About 20 years ago British born Africans were most certainly not as numerous as they are now. At that time playground mockery of children of African descent was rife. This perhaps goes some of the way to explaining why British born Africans were so keen to embrace Western culture. However as the years have gone by and multiculturalism has become well and truly rooted within British culture (at least where cities are concerned) even the least attentive of observers will have noticed the growth in African pride among the younger generation of Africans.
