A Message from OBE TV Chairman

A speech by Mr. Bernard Ampaw, Chairman, Original Black Entertainment Television Limited (OBETV) on 18 December 2004 marking the channel's one year broadcasting anniversary. Really, has it been that long? No. Far from it. The reason is simple. OBE TV has come to represent a strong beacon of hope, a key platform for sowing the seeds of aspirations and the realistic feeling of the actualisation of those aspirations.

    THE COMPANY

    • OBE TV was launched on the 5th of November 2003 and is a 24 hour satellite TV
    Channel that is free to view on Sky. It caters for the African and Caribbean
    population and people influenced by black culture within its footprint area.

    VISION

    OBE's Vision is to provide original entertaining and informative programmes,
    present a platform for the untapped vibrant talent in ethic minorities in the UK
    and around the world and provide a voice for the marginalized.
    The main objective of OBE's educational programmme is designed to promote
